For some reason, I had this same problem and I can't open any of my games for some reason. I think i found the problem its not really that much of a problem i left it because it was not a crash there are 2 types of crashes, one when you are forced to close the programm with 2 options and other one is with 3 or 4 options, i just waited for about 6 - 8 mins and it booted steam.
